We've all been there. You set ambitious 2025 goals, brimming with excitement and unwavering belief in yourself. But weeks, months, even years go by, and those dreams seem further away than ever. It seems impossible so soon. You know, just like that meme goes by, "January shows you dreams and December shows you reality>"
Disappointment sets in. But don't lose hope! This post isn't about crushing your dreams; it's about giving you honest insights and practical strategies to reignite your goals. Let's get real about what's holding you back and discover the path to a fulfilling 2025.
Starting January 1st, you are expected to wake up early, freshen up, and dress your best. Basically, you should engage in positive activities throughout the day. This tradition comes from the belief that whatever you do on the first day of the year sets the tone for the rest of the year, whether those actions are good or bad.
Alright, by the first dawn of the day, you take up a good pen and catch up on a new 2025 planner diary, newly brought up or gifted from the store. (yeah that according to you should be 2025, or else you will end up in the previous year won't it?)
You start with brimming energy, full of radiance and vividness, just like the last year. You probably write your name on the top, with a 2025 year affirmation something that goes like, "This year is gonna be my year" or maybe something even crispy "I will achieve my every dream in this year." It's very natural for all of us, nothing new.
You soon lower your pen and begin writing about your dreams and goals for this year. It might look something like this:
"I am going to make big money."
"I am going to top and ace all my Olympiad exams."
"I am going to win 7 gold medals at my swimming nationals."
"I am going to excel in my GK Olympiads and earn a chance to sit in the hot seat of KBC."
"I am going to get a promotion this year."
...and more.
After finishing, you close your diary with a smile on your face and determination in your heart, ready to turn your dreams into reality. But deep down, you can’t help but scream, "Are you freaking serious? Are you sure about this?!"
Take a moment to reflect on the time before you begin planning for 2025. I want you to recall your experiences from 2024, whether they were positive or negative. Imagine your brain as a rewind tape, much like watching a collection of memories from 2024 with your eyes closed. It doesn't matter if 2024 was graceful, traumatic, joyful, or depressing; just allow yourself to rewind and gather all your memories in one place. Write down the good experiences in one column and the bad experiences in a separate column.
The second step you do is, to focus on a good section first. In front you the "good" column, write down the reasons for your good time. If you got a good grade in your exam, or maybe a promotion that year, ask yourself why. What had the examiner or the manager seen in yourself or in your potential that has actually given you such heights? Or if you enjoyed a holiday somewhere, ask yourself what made you happy at that very moment.
Now, shift your gaze to the "bad" column. This is where the tables turn. In front of it, jot down the reasons why you felt sad or depressed. Basically, what were your mistakes, what were your failures. I know, it's tough for all of us to prove ourselves wrong, or mistaken, but sometimes we have to. We have to you know, lessen the water in our pots, to learn more. For suppose, you missed a medal in winning somewhere, write down what went wrong, what was mistaken. This time, be true to yourself. You can excuse yourself by blaming others, the environment, or the factors, but deep inside you know, the real reason. Come on, lets do admit it, at least for now.
Good, you are half done with achieving your goals and truly making 2025 your year. With the reasons available to you now, take another refreshing page and write down the steps in which you can improve them. Suppose, you gained weight last year because you had given up the gym practice you had, you can probably improve it by going to the gym every day, Making it a part of your Bible. Or maybe if you cannot access it, you can actually you know, move your body, reduce your diet or more.
Let's not give up on this, but remember, the most important part of this last and final step is, to choose small goals small steps in which you can improve. Not large, or impossible to achieve. For if you feel you are lacking in English speaking skills, don't make a step of like reading bibles and dictionaries or engrossing yourself in all kinds of stupid language stuff. Your step should be everyday consistent, and small. Because it's not important to take big steps or two steps in your success stairs, but it is important to take one step at least every day.
Remember, success is a journey, not a destination. There will be setbacks, failures, and moments of doubt. But with consistent effort, unwavering belief, and a willingness to learn and grow, you can create the life you desire. Trust the process, celebrate your progress, and never give up on your dreams.
